Capacity Building and Recovery Work
Capacity building is now an established and well run project. Supporting individuals, groups, organisations and societies to enhance their ability to identify and meet development challenges. The project's role is to facilitate learning. This is partially accomplished by providing resources and training, but is most effectively done with our partner the Local Authority through structured training programmes.
The project helps to build the capacity of the voluntary and statutory organisations working for women's rights, and against violence against women and men.
Our capacity building activities are based on three key elements:
- Organisational Development
- Civil Society Strengthening
The projects guiding principles emphasise the importance of building strong relationships with local partners and strengthening their skills in areas such as basic information giving or sign posting to ensure appropriate response is given by a specialist organisation. Below are 2 examples of project undertaken by the capacity builders.
