Staying Put & DVS support Bradford Safeguarding Week

Staying Put and DVS are highlighting domestic abuse issues during Bradford Safeguarding Week.

Posted in General

The week begins on June 25 with a launch at Holmewood Connect in Bradford. On the same day Staying Put will be working alongside the Creative Butterfly Project in a workshop in The Hive, Shipley for professionals who work with victims of domestic abuse.

Yasmin Khan, director of Staying Put, said: “The Creative Butterfly Project celebrates and focuses on positive aspects of oneself as a person who is rebuilding after experiencing domestic abuse. This workshop is a great opportunity for professionals to gain an insight into the process.

“Our staff are involved in a number of events during Safeguarding Week – it’s crucial that we all work together with other agencies to raise awareness and keep people safe.”

Staying Put is also taking part in an event on South Asian communities and the barriers to reporting safeguarding issues. This event takes place on Tuesday June 26 at the Quaker Meeting House in Bradford.

Then on Thursday June 28 Staying Put staff will be presenting a training session on LGBT and domestic abuse, at Equity Centre, Bradford.

Finally on Friday June 29 Staying Put will be presenting a workshop at the Women of Keighley Project, at Central Hall in Alice Street, Keighley.
