A refuge is a safe house for those escaping domestic violence. We currently only have refuges for women and children, as we do not mix men and women together in these properties.
Our specialist staff provide residents with the building blocks they need to begin a new life, free from fear. They help the residents overcome the impacts of abuse, and offer a huge range of practical and emotional support. This includes support on housing, education, accessing benefits, employment, or immigration, as well as helping with mental health and wellbeing.
We have four refuges and some units of dispersed accommodation.
We have two purpose built facilities in Keighley. These have different sized bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, communal kitchens, a lounge and playroom, and can accommodate up to 11 women with or without children. We have two other refuges; they accommodate up to 16 families and include 8 self-contained flats, one of which is fully wheelchair accessible.
